Frequently Asked Questions

What session should I book to get started?

If you'd like to connect, share a little bit about what you're looking for, or ask any questions you may have, feel free to book a Meet & Greet session. Alternately, you may book an Initial Assessment session. Please note that an Initial Assessment is required prior to meeting with any children and youth.

I want to cancel or change an appointment. What should I do?

Please use our online booking system to make any adjustments to your sessions. If you are unable to adjust your session online, it may be because the cancellation window has passed. If you have an urgent cancellation, please reach out directly to hello@iharttherapy.ca

What is the cancellation policy?

We kindly ask that cancellations or appointment changes be made within the required 48 hours' notice period. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be subject to a cancellation fee. If an emergency arises, please reach out directly at your earliest convenience.

How do I bill my insurance provider?

After each session, you will receive an RCC receipt which you can submit to your extended health provider for reimbursement according to your plan.

Are there any other fees I should know about?

All typical session fees are outlined above. Please note that services outside of scheduled sessions, including meetings or paperwork, are billed at the hourly rate. Any legal-related matters are subject to a higher rate.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider

Understanding your coverage can help you plan for your child's care. Here are some helpful questions to ask your extended health provider:

  • Does my plan cover counseling services by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)?
  • What is the annual maximum amount covered for counselling per person?
  • Is there a deductible I need to meet before coverage begins?
  • What is the percentage or fixed amount covered per session?
  • Does my plan require a physician’s referral for reimbursement?
